Newtown High School’s boys’ soccer team defeated Wethersfield 3-2 at Farmington Sports Arena in the Connecticut High School Soccer Challenge on September 14. Brendan McAnaspie, Ryan Payne, and Erik Arpi all scored and Noah Kooper had an assist.

The Nighthawks got back to South-West Conference action with a visit to Weston on September 17 and ended in a 1-1 tie. Newtown, following Thursday’s visit to Immaculate of Danbury will host Kolbe Cathedral Saturday, September 21, at 10 am. The Hawks posted a record of 3-0-2 in its first five contests.
