Let’s face it. While we as Newtowners are well represented and cared for in the US Congress by Dick Blumenthal, Chris Murphy, and Jahana Hayes, our representation in Hartford has been lacking vitality and true representation of Newtowners’ needs for too long now. That is why I am so excited to have the opportunity this Nov 5th to vote for Michelle Embree Ku as my State Representative in Hartford and for Rob Blanchard as my State Senator.

Michelle, a Newtown resident for 15 years and a career scientist, is currently a Newtown Selectperson and was elected to and served both on our Board of Education (as chair), and also on the Legislative Council. Rob, currently Chief of Staff to CT Comptroller Sean Scanlon, comes from a strong middle-class hard-working family who instilled in him the importance of giving back to his community. Do the smart thing and vote for necessary change and new voices in Hartford by casting your ballots for Michelle Embree Ku and Rob Blanchard on Nov 5th. At the same time, keep what works by voting to ensure that Chris Murphy and Jahana Hayes stay just where they are — fighting for all of us in D.C.
