To the Editor:

The Independent Party of CT has joined Newtown Democrats in endorsing Michelle Ku. Michelle’s long history of assisting Newtown through appointed and elected positions is impressive. Eight years on the Board of Education, four as chair, elected to the Legislative Council, and now on the Board of Selectmen. Michelle is connected to and understands Newtown and our residents. She will represent all of us in a nonpartisan manner. We need a representative who advocates and represents all of us, not just one political party. It’s time for new energy and perspective in representing Newtown in Hartford. Michelle has the experience and track record to do us proud.

I am a member of the Independent Party State Central Committee, and we have endorsed Michelle Ku for State Representative. We believe she will represent all of Newtown in a nonpartisan manner, including Independent and unaffiliated voters.

Above all I urge you to support our democratic privilege and vote on November 5th.
