John Villane
John “Jack” Villane, Sr, 84, of Newtown, beloved husband of Louise (Mazza) Villane, died September 17, at Newtown Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was born April 13, 1934, in Danbury, and was the son of the late William, Sr, and May Villane.
Mr Villane owned and operated the Stony Hill Barbershop and was lovingly known by many as “Jack the Clipper.”
He was a veteran of the US Navy and recipient of the National Defense Service Medal, Navy Occupation Service Medal, and Good Conduct Medal. He was a past member of the Stony Hill Volunteer Fire Department.
Mr Villane enjoyed spending time with his family, camping, and boating.
In addition to his cherished wife of 59 years, Louise, he will be sadly missed by his four children and their spouses, Pamela and Neil Hannequin, Jacqueline Villane, John H. II and Angie Villane, and Rachael Villane; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and his sister, Evelyn O'Neil, and her husband, Arthur.
His brother, William, predeceased him.
Family and friends will be received Thursday, September 20, from 5 to 7 pm, at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury.
Funeral services will be at the funeral home Friday, September 21, at 10 am, with burial to follow in St Peter Cemetery, Danbury.
