Avoid The Wait, Renew Your License Through AAA

Need to renew your driver’s license? Want to avoid a wait? Then visit your local AAA branch — whether you are a member of AAA or not — to renew your license.

Connecticut residents in Fairfield, New Haven and Litchfield Counties have eight AAA Connecticut Motor Club offices to choose from, including one at 93 Lake Avenue in Danbury and 720 Wolcott Street in Waterbury. Additional offices are also located in Branford, Hamden, Orange, Stamford, Stratford, and Westport. All offices are open Monday through Friday between 8:30 am and 5:30 pm, and on Saturday from 8:30 am to noon.

For the renewal, bring your current Connecticut, driver’s license, the renewal application form, and either cash or a check, money order, or bank check made payable to DMV. There also is a $2 convenience fee paid to AAA per state law.

Commercial driver’s licenses, duplicate licenses, or licenses with endorsements/restrictions for public passengers or licenses that require name changes cannot be processed at the AAA facilities. Drivers must visit a DMV office for those services.

The Connecticut Motor Club, a division a AAA Southern New England, provides comprehensive travel, insurance, financial and automotive-related services to more than 500,000 members in Fairfield, Litchfield, and New Haven Counties. Visit AAAct.com for additional information.
