Mr and Mrs Andrew Bryant Ranks

Melissa Faith Moll and Andrew Bryant Ranks, both of Hampton, N.H., were married on Saturday, July 26, at the First Parish Congregational Church in York, Maine, with the Rev W. Bradley Hirst officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Dean and Charlene Moll of Sandy Hook, and the groom is the son of Donald and Rebecca Ranks of Chelsea, Maine.

The bride was given in marriage by her father.

She wore an Alvina Valenta white silk satin A-line gown with ivory pleating surrounding the strapless neckline and an ivory bow with streamers at the back. Covered buttons with loops trailed down the back of her dress. She carried a round bouquet of creamy peach, bright cantaloupe, sand and bright orange roses, orange spray roses, and stephanotis with pearls in the center. The bouquet was backed with blue parum. Pearl-centered stephanotis adorned her hair.

The bridesmaids wore two-piece, A-line satin dresses in a light periwinkle. A satin band surrounded the strapless neckline. Their bouquets of roses, orange Gerber daisies, and blue parum matched the colors of the bride’s bouquet.

Marcia Dohne of Westchester, Penn., was the maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Emily Grosvnor of Washington, D.C., Holly Doe of Windham, N.H. (sister of the groom), and Kristine Boardman of Dover, N.H.

Serving as best man was the groom’s brother, Matthew Ranks of Alpharetta, Ga. The groomsmen were Alexander Moll of University Park, Penn. (brother of the bride), T.J. Dort of Beverly, Mass., and Erik James of Gardiner, Maine.

Courtney and Morgan Steward of Anson, Maine, were the flower girls. They wore white gowns and carried hand-lined baskets of roses. Kevin Dennis of Sandy Hook served as ring bearer. He carried a hand-sewn satin pillow with the couple’s name and periwinkle roses embroidered by Lynn Dohne, friend of the bride.

The reception was held at the York Harbor Inn overlooking the harbor in York Harbor, Maine. Owen Dyer of Confection Art designed the four-tier hexagonal cake decorated with hand sculpted and painted marzipan cherries and raspberries. The topper was an edible barley sugar-faceted pedestal dish fashioned to look like milk glass overflowing with the same sculpted marzipan fruit.

The bride is a 1997 graduate of Manheim Township High School, Lancaster, Penn., and a 2001 graduate of the University of New Hampshire. She is employed by the Portsmouth, N.H., middle school where she teaches seventh grade English.

The groom is a 1996 graduate of Gardiner High School in Maine and a 2000 graduate of the University of New Hampshire. He is currently attending Franklin and Pierce Law School in Concord, N.H.

The couple spent their honeymoon in Punta Cana, Domican Republic.

After the honeymoon, they moved to 21 Main Street, Raymond, N.H.
