Life Line Screening

Team To Visit Newtown

Life Line, America’s leading provider of quality, affordable health screenings, will visit The Homesteads at Newtown, a senior rental and living community, to offer screenings on Thursday, September 25, between 9 am and 4 pm.

According to Linda Silberstein, the owner of The Homesteads at Newtown, “We’ve opened our doors to Life Line because they are a critical health resource. Most people are unaware that stroke is America’s third leading killer and that one half of all stroke victims have no symptoms at all before a stroke occurs. Access to inexpensive, accurate tests is essential. Best of all they’re painless and take only minutes per test.”

According to Life Line Screening literature the mission of the company, “...is to make people aware of an undetected health problem and encourage them to seek follow up care with their physician.”

Life Line currently has four screenings available: Stroke and Carotid Artery (plaque build-up in the neck), Abdominal Aortic Aneurysms, Peripheral Arterial Disease (plaque build-up in the lower extremities) and Osteoporosis. Costs per test vary and pre-registration is required. Call Life Line Screening at 800-407-4557 to pre-register.

The Homesteads at Newtown is at 166 Mount Pleasant Road/Route 6 in Newtown. Call 426-8118 or visit www.HomesteadsCT.com for additional information.
