Audubon Center Perimeter Hike

SOUTHBURY — Lillinonah Audubon Society is planning a perimeter hike around Bent of the River Audubon Center on Saturday, September 29. John Longstreth, the director of the center, will lead the six-mile hike around the edges of the property.

Part of the walk will be in sight of the Housatonic River and the Shepaug Dam; it will also pass through a variety of habitats, where there are some very old trees along with a variety of other plants and wildlife.

The group will meet at the Audubon center, at 185 East Flat Hill Road in South Britain, at 9:00 am. The program is expected to last about 31/2 hours. Participants should wear sturdy, waterproof shoes and bring binoculars if possible.
