Society of Creative Arts of Newtown will host a demonstration in watercolor by Patricia Billeci of Pleasant Valley, N.Y., during its meeting on Wednesday, September 27, at 1:30 pm.
The demonstration is open to the public and will be held at Newtown Meeting House (lower level), 31 Main Street in Newtown (at the flagpole). Non-members are always welcome, and admission is free.
The subject of Ms Billeciâs watercolor will be flowers. She will be painting in the same realistic style she uses when painting a character head, attending to every detail in an artistic manner.
Pat Billeci studied advertising art and design at State University of New York at Farmingdale and was subsequently employed in that field. She soon discovered, however, that her real interest lay in fine art and moved into that field.
Her work now hangs in galleries and private collections in the US, Europe and the Far East. She was profiled in American Artist Magazine in 1994 and her work was selected for the cover at for Splash 5 â The Best of Contemporary American Watercolor, published in 1998 by North Light Books.
Her work has earned numerous awards over the years. Already this year Ms Billeci has been honored with a George Sponable Memorial Award for her painting âYankee Doodle Dandyâ at the prestigious Adirondacks National Exhibition of American Watercolor in Old Forge, New York; and First in Watercolor at the Kent Fall Show, currently on view in Kent.
