Open House Sunday Singles Group

WASHINGTON — New Beginnings of Northwest Connecticut, an interfaith singles ministry of First Congregational Church in Washington, will hold its First Annual Open House on Sunday, September 24, from 2 to 6 pm. It will take place on the green, weather permitting, or at the parish community house behind the church on Route 47.

There will be music and entertainment by the popular group The Unrelated Brothers, along with performances by the vocalists and songwriters Sari Max, Chuck Conlogue, and Abi Fuhrman. Refreshments will be provided by area caterers and grocers.

New Beginnings focuses on healing and growth and offers support groups for the bereaved and for the separated and divorced. In addition to the support groups, New Beginnings also hosts a variety of activities. Recent events have included picnics and canoeing at Lake Waramaug, hikes at Steep Rock, potluck suppers and movie nights, workshops on health and finance, and group outings to various musical and theater presentations.

An open forum discussion group for single adult life issues will begin in October. Singles of all faiths are encouraged to join. For more information call 860/868-0569.
