Mr And Mrs Merlin Fisk

Merlin Fisk of Newtown and Helen Ruth Freeman of New York City were married on September 16 by Judge Michael McDermott at a family ceremony in Somers, N.Y.

A wedding luncheon for family and friends followed at Heritage on the Green in Heritage Hills, Somers.

The groom was attended by his brother, Donald Fisk, of Newburgh, Ind. The bride was attended by her cousin, Dr Myron Wegman of Ann Arbor, Mich.

Mr Fisk is a retired Exxon executive and former Newtown probate judge. Helen Ruth Freeman is the former chairman of the English Department of Washington Irving High School in New York. A published poet, she founded the New York City High School Poetry Contest, and is one of the founders of Poets House in New York.

The couple will maintain residences in Newtown and New York City.
