Mr & Mrs Samuel Emery
Mr & Mrs Samuel Emery
Jennifer Grace Kelkres and Samuel Bartlett Emery were married on May 30, 2009, by Patricia Hackett. The sun shone that morning following days of rain, allowing couple to share their traditional vows as they had hoped to do in the gardens at The Sedgley Place, a stately Federal home built in 1786 in Greene, Maine.
The bride is the daughter of Gene G. and Eileen Kelkres of Newtown. For her wedding day Jennifer selected a strapless beaded white satin gown, and she carried a bouquet of white and purple Alstromerias.
Lauren Appel of New York City was the maid of honor. She wore a dark blue silk dress and carried a white Alstroemerias.
Ronald Boczerski of Storrs was the best man.
Samuelâs brother, Christopher Pierce, and Jenniferâs brother and sister, Andrew G. Kelkres and Lindsay Kelkres, participated in the ceremony by doing readings that had been selected by the bride and groom.
Jennifer is a 1998 graduate of Newtown High School, and a 2002 graduate of Smith College, where she earned her bachelorâs degree. She is a PhD candidate in the department of political science and a research assistant at Binghamton University. She has been awarded The Hinman Fellowship at Binghamton/SUNY.
Samuel is the son of Suzanne Rancourt of Hadley, N.Y., and Scott Pierce of Plattsburgh, N.Y.
He earned a bachelorâs degree from Clarkson University, and is a PhD candidate in the physics department, College of Liberal Arts & Sciences, at the University of Connecticut.
Following a honeymoon in Maine, the Emerys are dividing their time between Storrs, Conn., and Binghamton, N.Y.
