A Prophecy To Believe
A Prophecy To Believe
To the Editor:
To Newtownâ¦and the World,
On behalf of all of us, I want to thank friends, family, the nation and the world for their concern, prayers, best wishes and loving messages. My husband and I spent many years working in New York City. Many of the people missing and dead had been customers, colleagues and friends. Everyone has been touched by this horrific tragedy. Too many have been touched directly.
Along with a call to display flags and light candles, along with messages to âstand proud,â along with loving support, have also been circulated prophecies of doom. Remember that our - and the worldâs - enemies have read the same prophecies. They use them, as well as our planes, against us.
Many a fanatic believes their role is to fulfill prophecy. True prophets are guided by different hands and different motives. It is evil that directs destruction of innocents. Evil gains control through our fear and ignorance. We need to be smart and more diligent, not frightened. Jesus asked us to âturn the other cheekâ; but he also found and cast our âserpentsâ wherever he went.
We must protect our worldwide right to different lifestyles, religions, cultures, and governments. We need to open our eyes to the invasive, deadly, and mutating virus of hate and destruction. As we seek to eradicate this disease in all of our hearts, communities, and countries we must also pass on the final messages phoned out: âI love you.â
Only love survives. This is the prophecy to believe.
