Womenâs Chorus Is Looking
Ahead To The Holidays
TRUMBULL â While it may only be the beginning of Autumn, members of YankeeMaid Chorus are already thinking ahead and offering regional female singers the opportunity to perform as part of a holiday chorus.
The championship YankeeMaid Chorus, celebrating over 30 years of harmony, is a dynamic, spirited group of women from 33 towns throughout greater Fairfield, New Haven and lower Litchfield counties. Under the direction of Karen Sweeters of Norwalk, the chorus is a nine-time champion of Sweet Adelinesâ North Atlantic Region #1 chorus competition (Sweet Adelines International is a non-profit international organization of more than 32,000 female singers committed to advancing the musical art form of barbershop harmony through education and performance).
The YankeeMaids rehearse every Wednesday beginning at 7:30 pm at St Josephâs Manor, 6448 Main Street in Trumbull. The group is extending an open invitation for women to learn holiday music in four-part harmony, barbershop style, with the intent of performing with the YankeeMaids during their holiday performances in December.
Visitors are always welcome to rehearsals. The group will begin its rehearsals for the holiday season on October 4.
For more information, stop by one of the rehearsals in Trumbull or call 888/401-0814 for additional information. The YankeeMaids also maintain a web site, at www.yankeemaid.org, which may be able to offer additional information.
