STRIKERS 2, DYNAMITE 1: Elizabeth LaPerch and Alli Kirk scored one goal apiece as the Strikers came from behind to nip the Dynamite. Amanda Nostrand had a strong game. For the Dynamite, goaltender Amanda Roy had an outstanding game while Ashley Larocque (one goal) and Megan Anderson had nice performances.

BOYS C/D DIVISION

CLASH 5, WOLFPACK 1: Garrett Hahn scored three goals while Michael Hahn and Stephen Kramer scored one apiece to lead the Clash past the Wolfpack. Erich Dinnan, Will Jacob and Jack Griffin had good games. For the Wolfpack, Justin Carotti scored the goal on an assist from Andrew Heller. Michael Rambone, Nick Pellird and Eric Mayer all had solid performances.

LANDSHARKS 4, GREEN HAMSTERS 3: Greg Hill and John Burns scored early for the Landsharks, but Jordan Reed of the Green Hamsters fired back with one of his own to close the gap. But Blake Barreto scored to put the ‘Sharks on top, 3-1, at the close of the first half. Hill added another goal in the second half to put the ‘Sharks ahead, 4-1, but the Hamsters charged back with goals from Tony Carlyle and Matt Smarrella. The rally ended there, however, and the ‘Sharks – with Scott Newberry dishing off three assists – had the win.

GIRLS E DIVISION

RAPTORS 4, PANDA BEARS 0: Mary Bloshuk, Jennifer Brewer, Gina Bonacci and Jessica Tonucci all scored to lead the Raptors to the shutout win. For the Panda Bears, Emily Snyder, Briana Liotta and Taylor Truchess all played well.

NIGHTMARES 4, TORPEDOES 0: Katie Powers scored three unassisted goals and Emily Lockhart added another goal, off an assist from Kelsey Phillips, as the Nightmares put a scare into the Torpedoes. For the Torpedoes, Marissa Bobkowski, Lauren Doyon and Jenna Himmelfarb all played well.

BOMBERS 4, TIGERS 2: Sydney Russell scored the first goal for the Bombers and Kasey Schulz followed with three more as the Bombers held off an attack by the Tigers. Scoring for the Tigers was Melissa Schreiber and Michele Haitz.  The Bombers were aided by great defense from June Repasi and Kaitlin Marsden. Assisting in scoring for the Bombers was Kaitlin Walsh. On the Tigers, Danielle Norris and Stephanie Soder had solid games as did Maura McDade and Natalie Clavette.

TORPEDOES 3, TIGERS 2: Emily Boncek scored a pair of goals and Lauren Doyon added one to lead the Torpedoes to the win. Rebecca Read and Courtney Gleason played well for the Torpedoes. For the Tigers, Marni Thompson and Racheal Cov both scored while Carolyn Gingras and Jordan Good had solid, all-around games.

BOYS E DIVISION

PANTHERS 3, CHEETAHS 1: Michael Cagganello scored a pair of goals and Evan Ritzinger added one to lead the Panthers to victory. Max Baudisch and Kyle Hensel played well on offense while Dan Burns and Gregory DeMenna led the defense. For the Cheetahs, Spencer Scott scored one goal while Michael Bunger and Kelly Walsh supported the offense. Christopher Bock was solid on defense in front of goaltender Ian Cooper.

COYOTES 5, TORNADOES 0: Gabriel Gusti scored a pair of goals while Steve Musco and Kyle Droniak added one apiece to lead the Coyotes to the win. George Zaruba anchored the defense. For the Tornadoes, Hiram Orama and Adam Schankman played well all-around and Ryan DiLuoffo was solid on defense.

EAGLES 6, HURRICANES 3: Ricky Gallucci and Matt Hill scored two goals apiece as the Eagles out-shot the Hurricanes, 6-3. Jonathan Zigman and Cody Cullens scored one goal apiece, with Cullens also adding an assist. Nathan Barrett and Brian Cantore played well on defense. For the Hurricanes, Peter Leone scored two goals and Timmy Lacouture added one. Stephen Dworkin and Adam Wencik led the D.

ROADRUNNERS 2, LIGHTNING 1: Bobby Davenport scored two goals as the Roadrunners clipped the Lightning. Kyle DiNicola did a fine job on offense while Derek Mayo and Peter Griffiths led the defense. For the Lightning, Sam Morrison scored the goal while Brandon McGuinn and Keith McGrath supported the offense. Steven Jaroszewski, Dale Neves and Nicholas Neves played well on defense.

BOYS F DIVISION

RAPTORS 3, DRAGONS 0: Chris McCann scored a pair of goals and Bryan Lehrer added another to lead the Raptors to the win. Evan Kennedy and Jeff Dinicola assisted on McCann’s goals. Kyle Desrochers played well at midfield while William Little anchored the defense. For the Dragons, Chris Miller and Gregory Campbell had strong games while Carter Law played well in the net.

TORNADOES 4, SHARKS 0: Tory Deakin scored a pair of goals while Tim Wilmott and Zack Dent scored one apiece to lead the Tornadoes past the Sharks. Ben Murphy sparked the defense. For the Sharks, Brandon Body and Sam Norcross played well in the field as Bryan Czel had a good game in goal.

WOLVERINES 3, ROCKETS 1: The Rockets took an early lead with a quick first quarter score by Kevin Carney. Matt Hoffmann, assisted by Daniel Hufziger, tied the game for the Wolverines in the second quarter. Nicholas Nazer and Joshua Muniz assured a Wolverine victory by scoring in the second and fourth quarters. Christopher Gregory, Richard Andreotta and Ryan Cassidy showed excellent play for the Rockets. Wolverine defenseman Sam Spiegel thwarted several strong Rocket attacks late in the game.

TORPEDOES 2, LASERS 0: Daniel Clements and Denton Jochums scored for the Torpedoes and Bryan Wicki, Andrew Seymour and Ben Kaye had good games. For the Lasers, Daniel Greenwood, Mike Shevlin and Matt Iassogna were strong on offense. Colin Jacob and Tony Vacaro led the D.

GIRLS F DIVISION

LIGHTNING 3, ROCKETS 2: Two second-half goals from Taylor Smith helped lift the Lightning to victory. Hannah Basch-Gould provided the other Lightning strike. Kara Brown and Samantha Wray played well defensively. For the Rockets, Stephanie Arndt scored while Jessica Lynch and Abigail Keough both had stellar games.

TORNADOES 3, HURRICANES 0: Kate Bowen, Allison Modzelewski and Katie Pessin scored to lead the Tornadoes to the win. Bianca LeBlanc was outstanding on defense. For the ‘Canes, Katie O’Dell, Hannah Deflumeri, Mara Scallon and Jacey Johns had great games.

EAGLES 4, DOLPHINS 3: Kristen Tanner scored three goals and Alex Israel added one as the Eagles nipped the Dolphins. Rebecca Castegner and Alison Bliszka scored for the Dolphins. Kim-Li Tran and Sara Attanasio played well on defense for the Eagles while Kelly O’Connor led the way for the Dolphins.

SCREAMING NIGHTMARES 1, STRIKERS 1: Ellen Ritzinger scored early to put the Strikers on top, but Rebecca Jaroszewski of the Nightmares scored late in the game to tie it up. Andrea Nazer, Cristina Naldini and Erica Green all played well for the Nightmares. For the Strikers, Leah Barrett, Ashley Szabo and Jillian Jagoe all played well.

TIGERS 1, DOLPHINS 1: Becky Lipnick scored for the Dolphins and she was backed by solid play from teamates Alexandra Scarpa and Jillian Thompson. Jennifer Smith scored for the Tigers with Katie McMorran, Brittany Soucar and Kyra Smith putting in a great effort.

GIRLS U11 TRAVEL

NAVIGATORS 3, DANBURY 1: Sammie Ciaccia, Laura Konkos and Rachel Maley each scored to lift the Navigators to the win. Alana Bilangi, Magfgie Kimball, Gabby Nastri and Eva Cerreta kept up the offensive pressure while Caroline Kraich, Claire Ober and Julie Landin were solid on defense. Bethany Morin earned the win in goal.

BOYS U11 TRAVEL

VIPERS 4, NEW MILFORD 0: The Vipers blanked the New Milford Galaxy with ball control and superb midfield play by Justin Miller, Jason Smith and Drew Taylor. Mat DeBrantes, Kevin Davies and Chris Meier’s defensive stand in front of goalie Danny Smith helped the Vipers record their fist shutout of the 2000 U-11 season. Kevin Troy’s “stopper” play was aggressive and confident and his efforts helped spark the offense.  Anthony Florez scored once, late in the first half and then again midway through the second. Alex Bowen and Meier also added one apiece.

VIPERS 9, SHARON 1: In the first Northwest Division opener for the Vipers, they managed to sting the Sharon U-11s, 9-1. Zack Vargas netted two while Max Hoagland, Ethan Canfield, Nick Kallivrousis, Tony Gallucci, Paul Andras, Jason Smith and Alex Bowen all scored once. Chris Schreiber and Colin Babbage both played well supporting the offensive pressure. Danny Smith, Bowen and J Smith all shared time in the net for the Vipers.

GIRLS U12 TRAVEL

NITROS 7, WOODBURY 0: Rachel Eastman scored three goals and Jennifer Iassogna added two as the Nitros exploded against Woodbury. Jennifer Greenwood and Heather Young also scored. Darcy Fiscella and Erica Vacaro led a defense that allowed just one shot on goal.

GIRLS U13 TRAVEL

ROCKETS 4, BROOKFIELD 0: Newtown started with a fast pace and maintained tough pressure on Brookfield throughout the game. Tara Gaston and Vicky Thomas shared goal time for the shut-out. Mary Anders scored the first goal with a breakaway at the end of the first half. Jill Tanner had a great game in the midfield and helped Newtown keep their momentum. Megan Rawson and Elyssa Samsel anchored the defense. In the second half, Newtown dominated the play. Siobhan Cooper scored twice. Alex Konneker was key in keeping the ball in goal range. Maria Cinquegrana had a great goal off of a free kick and volley.

GIRLS U14 TRAVEL

KNOCKOUTS 6, SOUTHBURY 0: Katie O’Connor and Cora Peffers scored two goals apiece, while Megan Regnery and Kristen Davis each netted one. The defense was tough led by Kelly Corrigan and Stacy Shpunt. Kate Stickles, Karoline Engel and Sara Salbu cut off numerous attempts by Southbury in the midfield. The whole team played well for the win. Christina Wolf and O’Connor shared the goaltending duties.
