Police report motorist Florence A. Allen, 62, of 12 Sunnyview Terrace, Sandy Hook, was driving a 1998 Honda Accord northbound on High Rock Road about 9:30 pm September 13 when she took her eyes off the road to light a cigarette and inadvertently went off the left side of the road, striking a tree.
Allen was not injured in the collision, police said. Police issued her an infraction ticket for making a restricted turn.
Evading Responsibility
Motorist Lewis R. Norton, 58, of 103 Toddy Hill Road was driving a 1991 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme southbound on Toddy Hill Road about 7:20 am September 14 when a vehicle driven by an unknown person attempted to pass him, but in doing so forced Norton off the road and onto the right road shoulder, causing damage to his two right tires, police said.
Norton was not injured. Police are investigating.
Honda Vs Deer
Motorist Corey Calise, 29, of Moriches, N.Y., was driving a 1991 Honda Civic northbound on South Main Street about 11 pm September 14 when Calise failed to notice a deer in the northbound lane until it was too late to avoid striking it, police said. Calise refused medical treatment, police said. Police verbally warned Calise for failure to wear a seat belt.
Currituck Crash
Police report motorist Stanley Kallivrousis, 17, of 35 Butterfield Road was driving a 2000 Volkswagen NGX eastbound on Currituck Road about 7:45 am September 14 when he was blinded by sun glare and struck the rear end of an eastbound 2001 Mitsubishi EGS coupe driven by Michelle Tremonte, 25, of Brookfield.
There were no injuries. Police issued Kallivrousis a written warning for failure to drive a reasonable distance apart.
Daytop Break
State police report a burglary/larceny at the Alpha House section of the Daytop substance abuse rehabilitation center on Third Street at Fairfield Hills.
State police said they learned September 17 that someone had entered the Daytop building through and unlocked window and stole a stereo system and videotape. Daytop is housed in the building known as Greenwich House. State police are investigating.
I-84 DUI
State police said they stopped motorist Alan Dean, 38, of 14 Old Hawleyville Road, Hawleyville, for high speed driving on westbound Interstate-84 near Exit 11 at midnight September 16. State police said they charged Dean with driving under the influence. State police said they released Dean on a $500 non-surety bond for a September 25 appearance in Danbury Superior Court.
I-84 Marijuana
State police said a truck driver telephoned them to complain about a motorist whom the truck driver saw smoking a marijuana pipe while driving on westbound Interstate-84 about 2:30 am September 6.
State police said they stopped motorist Jason D. Wood, 21, of Ridgefield near Exit 11 and charged him with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. State police released him on a $500 bond for a September 18 appearance in Danbury Superior Court.
Rear-Ender
State police said motorist Cheryl B. Reeser, 43, of 1 Dylan Drive, who was driving a 2000 Ford Windstar, got off eastbound Interstate-84 at Exit 9 and stopped at the end of the off-ramp about 2:30 pm September 17, when she was struck from behind by motorist David J. Garofalo, 20, of Highland, N.Y., who was driving a 1989 Honda Civic.
There were no injuries. State police gave Garofalo a written warning for following too closely.
Queen Street Crash
Police report a collision on Queen Street about 10 am September 16 between a 2000 Honda Accord coupe driven by Thomas Lyddy, 51, of 3 Smoke Rise Ridge, and a 1999 Ford Ranger pickup truck driven by Timothy Mallette, 26, of Southbury.
Police said the accident took place on upper Queen Street, in the townâs commercial area. The Honda struck the Ford as the Honda was making a left turn, police said. There were no injuries.
Police issued Lyddy a written warning for making a restricted turn.
Church Hill Accident
Police report an accident on Church Hill Road about 11:30 am September 16.
Police said a 1994 Chevrolet Caprice driven by Rose Zadra, no age given, of Stoughton, Mass., made a left turn in front of an oncoming 1997 Harley-Davidson FXD motorcycle driven by Louis Gaudio, 33, of Brookfield, resulting in a collision.
There were no injuries, according to police. Police verbally warned Zadra for making a restricted turn.

Sandy Hook Collision
Police report motorist Lisa Devellis, 40, of 87 Church Hill Road, who was driving a Dodge Caravan minivan westbound on Riverside Road about 5 pm September 19, stopped at the traffic signal where that road enters Sandy Hook Center.
Motorist Falil Beluli, 40, of 5 Glen Road, who was driving a 1989 Chevrolet Cavalier westbound on Riverside Road, was unable to stop and struck the rear end of the Dodge, police said.
There were no injuries. Police issued Beluli a written warning for failure to drive a reasonable distance apart.
Toddy Hill DUI
Police report they charged Pedro Tepi, 43, of Waterbury about 6:30 pm September 19 with driving under the influence, failure to drive to the right, and operating a motor vehicle without a license following a three-vehicle accident on Toddy Hill Road near Vining Road.
Tepi was driving a 1988 Mitsubishi which was involved in an accident with Stanley Wing, 49, of 5 Old Green Road, who was driving a 1986 Oldsmobile, and Eric Braun, 52, of 3 High Rock Road, who was driving a 1999 Ford, police said. There were no injuries, police said.
After processing, police released Tepi for an October 3 appearance in Danbury Superior Court.

Blue Turn Signals
Police report they charged Brian W. Sierman, 17, of 3 Brandywine Lane with operating a motor vehicle while under suspension and operating a motor vehicle with turn signals of an improper color.
Police said they spotted Sierman traveling westbound on Mile Hill Road about 8 pm September 18 with blue turn signals on the vehicle he was driving and stopped him to investigate.
Police released Sierman on a $100 bond for a September 28 appearance in Danbury Superior Court.
