America’s Walk For Diabetes

FAIRFIELD — America’s Walk for Diabetes will be held on Sunday, October 1, beginning with registration at 8 am and the step-off at 9 am, at the Penfield 1 Pavilion at Fairfield Beach. It is sponsored by the American Diabetes Association.

 One participating team, the Stratford-based Brakettes women’s softball team, is urging persons interested in supporting the event to join their team or to form their own teams. To join the Brakettes, call 888-2207 and ask to be added to the roster. “It’s time to put your walking shoes on and join thousands of Americans across the country that will make every step count to defeat diabetes,” said Rich DeBLasio, event co-chairman. “It’s good for your health, it’s lots of fun, and you will be helping to support ADA programs, research, advocacy, education, and information.”
