Robert P. Siwik, 74, of Newtown, died peacefully September 16, in his home, surrounded by family. Born April 20, 1939, in Kalamazoo, Mich., he was a son of Frieda (Misiasz) and John Siwik.

He was employed by Union Camp (Allied Container) for 35 years. He loved his family, his Polish heritage, hunting, fishing, and organic farming.

His loving wife, Sharon; seven children and spouses, Jodie and Tony Enrqiuez, Marjorie and Bryan Mullen, Robert and Ivy Siwik, Peter and Laura Siwik, Catherine and Richard Monckton, John and Kara Siwik, and Lawrence Siwik; 13 beautiful grandchildren; his brother, Edward Siwik of Kalamazoo; and three nieces survive Mr Siwik. He was predeceased by a brother John “Jashu” Siwik; and parents.

The family would like to thank Regional Hospice and Home Care of Western Connecticut, and Astrid, Mary, and Candice in particular for their devoted and loving care. The family would also like to express their gratitude to Lincare of Brookfield.

The Liturgy of Christian Burial will take place Friday, September 20, at 10 am, at St Ann Melkite Catholic Church, 181 Clapboard Ridge Road, Danbury, with Fr John Cigan of St Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church, Danbury, officiating. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Newtown. The family will receive friends in St Ann Melkite Church on Thursday, September 19, from 5 to 8 pm. The Parastas service will take place at 7 pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the St Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church, 13 Pembroke Road, Danbury CT 06811 to assist in the efforts to rebuild our family church, which was lost to a fire this summer.

Jowdy-Kane Funeral Home, 9-11 Granville Avenue, Danbury, is in charge of arrangements.
