PEWTER COLLECTORS’ CLUB OF AMERICA TO MEET OCT 12–13 IN LANCASTER

LANCASTER, PENN. — The national fall meeting of the Pewter Collectors’ Club of America (PCCA) will be October 12–13 at the Lancaster Host Resort and will include a special visit to the Heritage Center Museum of Lancaster County.

An orientation session, “Introduction to Pewter,” presented by Bill Snow, will introduce beginning collectors, new members, first-time attendees, spouses and friends to the world of antique pewter. The Friday evening program will begin with opening remarks by First Vice President Sandy Lane. President Bob Eisenbraun will conduct the business meeting. Peter Seibert, director of the Heritage Center Museum of Lancaster, will welcome the group and introduce the group to the museum.

Don Herr will present an illustrated lecture, “Johann Christoph Heyne: The Man His Pewter.” Members are encouraged to being pewter made by Heyne. Mark Anderson will lead the popular Show and Tell session where members bring pewter for identification and/or discussion. Sales tables will be present.

Saturday, the group will have breakfast at the home of Don and Trish Herr and then visit the Heritage Center Museum of Lancaster County to view the museum’s collections. The museum collects, preserves and interprets Lancaster County’s history and decorative arts through its permanent collection, annual exhibitions and education programs.

The evening’s program will be “A Tribute to Bud Swain, Mr Pennsylvania Pewter” by Don Fennimore and Wayne Hilt. Member participation will include stories and pewter associated with Bud Swain.

The Lancaster Host Resort is at 2300 Lincoln Highway.
