Winterset Ski Club will hold its annual picnic on Sunday, September 19, at 1 pm at the Meadows Shelter of Hop Brook Lake Park in Middlebury.

The shelter is the first shelter on the left once you enter the park.

The club will be supplying hot dogs, hamburgers, wine, beer and soda. Members are asked to bring an appetizer, salad or dessert. In the past years, there have been baseball games so bring bats and gloves or any other yard games you may have.

Contact Jennie Perry at info@wintersetskiclub.org.

Ski trip plans are well underway for the 2004/2005 ski season. This season is already promising to be an exciting one. Tables will be set up so that you can learn about and sign up for the planned weekend bus trips, weeklong trips and Sunday bus trips and renew your membership at the same time.

Remember, there is a $10 late fee if your renewal form is received after October 1. Also, because Winterset is a member of the Connecticut Ski Council, members can purchase tickets at greatly reduced prices to a variety of mountains that participate in the bulk buy ticket program. There is a very limited time period available for the purchases of bulk buy tickets, as they are only available at the beginning of the ski season.

There will be information on this year’s prices and the mountains that are participating.

Trips that have been planned to date are listed below:

November 5-7: Rocking Horse Ranch (Susan Brier); January 14-17: Sunday River (Bob and Lea Attanasio); February 4-6: Waterville Valley (Susan Brier); February 20-27:Whistler/Blackcomb, British Columbia (Ham Brosious, hambro@charter.net); March 4-6: On-Snow Carnival Weekend (Nickie O’Toole); March 20-25: Spring at Sugarloaf Mountain, Maine (Andy Lapati).

If interested, contact the group leaders at info@wintersetskiclub.org.
