Welcoming Weary Travelers
Welcoming Weary Travelers
To the Editor:
Newtown Girl Scouts greeted many weary travelers from as far away as California, Minnesota, Texas, Florida, and Canada with coffee, tea, donuts, and bagels Labor Day weekend. The Coffee Stop, located on Church Hill Road, is an annual community service project that supports the public by being open 24 hours a day from Friday afternoon to Monday afternoon for the Labor Day weekend.
Thank you to Mr Noel Richards who allows us to use his property and provide this service. A huge thank you to our Scouts, their leaders and parents, and the following individuals without whom we could not have had a successful weekend: Audrey DeBlasio, Lisa Chaloux, Lynn Mary Dillon, Sheila & Jerry Cole, Liz Luizetti, Boy Scout Troop #70.
On behalf of Newtown Girl Scouts, we give special thanks to the following local businesses for their donations that made our annual Coffee Stop successful: Andreaâs Bakery, Bagel Delight Deli, Big Y of Newtown, Blue Colony Diner, Doughnut Hut, Doughnut Inn of Monroe, Dunkinâ Donuts of Newtown, Newtown Shell Station, Pembroke Plumbing Service, Pendergast Garbage Removal, and Stop & Shop of Newtown. Special thanks also to Newtown Park & Rec and the Newtown Highway Department for their continued support.
Sincerely,
