Carl E. âBuddyâ Oliver, 55, of Dayton Street, Sandy Hook, died September 10 at his home.
He was born in Bluff City, Tenn., on June 12, 1949, a son of Carl J. Oliver of Bluff City and the late Dorothy (Jones) Oliver.
Buddy was employed for many years as a custodian for the town of Ridgefield. He was a former resident of Danbury and Brookfield and was an avid fisherman and an auto race fan.
In addition to his father, survivors include two sons, Rick Oliver and his wife Tammy of Winchester, and Steve Oliver of Brookfield; his former wife, Rose (Porwitzky) Oliver of Brookfield; a sister, Joann Winters of Sandy Hook; two grandsons, Matthew and Dylan Oliver; two nephews, Bill and Mike Laboudy of Sandy Hook; and two nieces, Brandy Saunders of Bluff City, Tenn., and Jessica Winters of Sandy Hook.
Funeral services were held September 14 in the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main St in Newtown. Burial was in Paperville Cemetery, Bristol, Tenn.
