HURRICANES 2, TORNADOES 1: Natalie Villa scored a pair of goals to lift the Hurricanes to the win. Rebecca Carrafiello and Kaley Kruger powered the offense while Jackie Fisher led the defense. For the Tornadoes, Alanna Gilbert and Maura Gissen led the offense as Rachel Taback and Sally Toms anchored the defense.
NIGHTHAWKS 4, GATORS 0: Danielle Norris scored a pair of goals while Mara McDade and Belle Hydock scored one apiece to lead the âHawks to the win. Nicole Grillo played well in goal. For the Gaotrs, Kate Holroyd, Kelsey Hopper and Mary Bloshuk all had solid performances.
BOOMERANGS 5, LIGHTNING 0: Monica Warek scored a pair of goals while Devon Ferris, Stephanie Sanchez and Ashley Leifels also scored to lead the Boomerangs to the win. For the Lightning, Megan McGowan, Sammy Lockhart and Kaitlin Marsden played well.

DESTROYERS 5, NIGHTMARE 4: Harrison Gillis scored a pair of goals while Xhulio Halill, Tim Lacouture and George Zaruba scored one each to lead the Destroyers past the Nightmare. Ryan Dilutto, George Muffatti and Sterling Best all had solid games. For the Nightmare, Stephen Ashbolt scored a pair of goals while Eric Thornberg and Chris Bock also tallied. Jacob Barrett and Stephen Gumbrecht had fine games.

SONICS 3, VELOCIRAPTORS 2: Sean Fahey, William Little and Chris Arnone all scored as the Sonics edged the âRaptors. Michael Shannon, Little, and Christian Sayegh tended the net. For the âRaptors, Kyle Wildman and Carter Law scored the goals while Christopher Erickson and Shaun Mangold played well.
ROCKETS 3, WOLFPACK 0: Drew Robinson, Bryan Czel and Mike Greenwood all scored to lead the Rockets to the win. Trey Trudell had an assist. For the Wolfpack, Josh Barrett and Zack Badusich led the offense while Timmy Roberts and James Radcliffe powered the defense.
ROCKETS 4, THUNDERBOLTS 2:Â Sean Burson, Bryan Czel, Collin Gage and Brandon Body all scored to lead the Rockets past the Thunderbolts. Travis LeBlanc and Kyle Morrissey scored for the T-Bolts as Ryan Dunnigan and Eric Samuelson had fine performances.
TIGERSHARKS 5, NIGHTHAWKS 1: The Tigersharks clipped the Nighthawks wings behind powerful offence of Colby Summerland. Colby had an unassisted goal and then a second goal off the pass from Luke Shearin. Also scoring for the T-Sharks were Christian Gregoire, Kyle McCarthy and Nick Gerbo. The âShark defense was lead by Matt Dayton and Ryan Pasko. For the Nighthawks, John Imbimbo had an unassisted strike. David Tortora had a strong game on defense; and Jack Curry kept the game close with some great saves in goal.
GIRLS F
ALL STARS 2, DOLPHINS 1: Katie Mcmoran found the back of the net first, followed by Ali Korchman with the second goal. Justina Paproski, Sarah Cozens, Rachel Rode and Kira Reed turned in solid performances for the Allstars. The Dolphins, behind strong play from Molly Sheluck, Jessica Cash, Lisa Barber and Shannon McDonald mounted a solid effort with Kelly OâConnor scoring to make for an exciting finish.
LIGHTNING 2, STRIKERS 1: Samantha Wray scored a pair of goals to lead the Lightning past the Strikers. Michelle Salem and Jamie Keating had great games. Brooke Leifels scored for the Strikers while Katherine Scott and Isabelle Gleason both had solid performances.

WATERTOWN 2, RAPTORS 1: The two teams were well matched both displaying strong defense through a scoreless first half. Newtown goal was made by Chris McCann. Strong offense was exhibited by Ben Morrison, Andy Lapple, and Danny Clement. Collin Jacob and Gene Kallivrousis played strong defense.

RAMPAGE 5, NEW FAIRFIELD 0: Kate Bowen scored a pair of goals while Caleigh Boyle, Melissa Schreiber and Chelsea Fay all scored solo goals to lead the Rampage to the win. Fay, Jordyn Good and Ellen Ritzinger all provided assists. Hannah Basch-Gould led the defense as Katie Pessin and Allison Modzelewski shared time â and the shutout â in goal.

HURRICANES 2, BROOKFIELD 0: Kasey Schulz got the Hurricanes on the board first with a solid shot past the Brookfield keeper. Nora Lynn Shimko showed great follow up effort and scored the Hurricanesâ insurance goal. Sarah Shannon, Tania Domingos and Genna Scheuerell combined for a well ballanced attack. Goalie Megan Hansen and a solid deffense kept the visitors off the scoreboard.

NIGHTMARE 4, SOUTHBURY 4: Newtown trailed 3-1 . . . and rallied to go ahead, 4-3, only to have Southbury tie the game on a penalty kick late in the game. Newtownâs goals were scored by Connor Collier, Conor MacManus, Andrew Meisel and Kurt Nacewicz. Max Paynter and Ethan Carrotti played well offensively, while Michael Kearns and Chris Marks had strong games on defense.. Daniel Quinn and Jason Kostecki played well in goal.
 NIGHTMARE 2, NEW FAIRFIELD 2: Daniel Kowarick scored the Nightmareâs first goal, assisted on a beautiful corner kick from Kurt Nacewicz. Connor Collierâs goal tied the game late in the second half. Newtown played relentlessly in the second half, getting strong games form Joe Cappiello, John Gouveia, Ryan Goodridge, and Andrew Domingos. Jason Kostecki made some big saves in the net.
BOYS U12
VIPERS 4, BROOKFIELD 0: The Vipers shutout of the Brookfield Bobcats, in division play, was spurred by outstanding stopper play of Chris Meier, who the used confident defensive Viper core behind him for support and strength. The Smith twins, Jason and Danny, once again shared time in goal for Newtown and each also gave tireless minutes in midfield, where Drew Taylor and Justin Miller controlled the pulse of the match. Anthony Florez netted two goals in the first half, along with Nick Kallivrousis, who made a long run from midfield through the Brookfield defense to find the net. Kevin Troy assisted Florez with his first goal and then added one himself, in the second half. Ethan Canfield and Max Hoagland kept the Bobcatâs defense spread wide, as they constantly pushed the ball long and into the Brookfield corners creating several Viper offensive opportunities.
GIRLS U12
NEW FAIRFIELD 3, NIGHTHAWKS 1: Claire Ober scored on a rebound off a Jackie Schulz shot, but the Nighthawks fell to New Fairfield. Schulz led the offense while Eva Cerreta and Christie Attanasio powered the defense.
GIRLS U13
NEW FAIRFIELD 4, NITROS 3: Nitros played an outstanding second half to tie the game 3-3, but lost on a penalty shot in last minute. Erica Vacaro scored all three goals for the Nitros with great passing from Lindsay Weber and Sara Peters. Shannon Kirch lead a strong defensive effort, while Jennifer Greenwood and Racheal Eastman played a solid mid-field game. Emma MacHugh was kept busy with 25 goal shots, but was tough with 11 saves.

STORM 3, SOUTHBURY 1: Max Barrett scored three goals and Chris Nuelle provided two assists as the Storm eased past Southbury. Ross MacLeod also had an assist as goaltender Steve Marks and defenders Will Brooks, Matt Boland and Jim Wilkins all played well.

BOYS U14
SAMBA 4, SOUTH CENTRAL 0: Marc Doherty and Chris Hoagland scored early and Samba TTP went on to defeat South Central, 4-0. Alex Meisel and David McLaughlin provided the assists. The Samba offense lead by the midfield play of Noah Kugielsky, Dustin Raymond and Matt Lupinacci continued to pound at the door applying pressure with direct shots at the goal that seemed to be magnetized to the goal posts . . . until Luke Magill was fed a forwarding pass from Nick Larsson to bring the score to 3-0. Goal play by Micah Lamb and Louis RItzinger kept South Central scoreless. The second half was dominated by the defensive play of James Ashcroft, Doug Kitchens, Mike Sullivan and Matt Taylor. With the final goal by Magill, the game ended with a score of 4-0.
BOYS U13
East Brunswick, New Jersey Tournament
SAMBA 2, EAST WINDSOR (NJ) 0: Ryan Derrig scored first goal in Samba TTP history.Chris Finstein also scored and added an assist. Nick Gantsoudis also provided an assist. Samba controlled play throughout the game. Brian Conroy and Ryan Ogiela had scoring opportunities but were denied by the East Windsor goalie. Aron Fay, Chris Howley, Mark Cinquegrana and Michael Vontobel played terrific defense for Samba. Sean Cummins made three saves in recording the shut out.
SAMBA 5, PISCATAWAY (NJ) 1: Samba exploded for three goals in the first 11 minutes and never looked back. Brian Conroy scored twice and Michael Klein added one goal. In the second half, goals were scored by Aron Fay and Chris Finstein, who also added an assist. Michael Kennedy also racked up two assists. Justin Durelli played a strong game on the defensive line for Samba.
SAMBA 2, HAMILTON (NJ) 1: In a very physical game Samba emerged victorious with a last second score on a penalty kick to advance to the tournament semi-finals. Joe Rahtelli got Samba on the board first with a quick strike assisted by Michael Klein. Hamilton, however, evened the score with a penalty kick just before halftime. Rahtelli, Jack Quinn and Ronny Basak-Smith kept the offensive pressure up. The midfield of Klein, Brian Conner, Michael Kennedy and Ryan Ogiela created several good scoring opportunities for Samba. The defensive line of Mark Cinquegrana, Ryan Derrig, Justin Durelli, Chris Howley and Michael Vontobel kept the Hamilton attack at bay. Finally with under 1minute to play, Ryan Ogiela took a shot which was knocked down by the hand by Hamilton in the penalty box. Chris Collins calmly stepped forward and struck the penalty kick into the upper right hand corner of the net to earn the tough win.
COLD SPRING HARBOR (NY) 4, SAMBA 0: Samba was unable to get untracked and was defeated in the tournament semi-finals by Cold Spring Harbor. Joe Rahtelli had several shots on goal for Samba, as he and Jack Quinn worked hard from the front line. Michael Vontobel put in a strong effort at sweeper. Sean Cummins made six saves.
League Play
SAMBA 7, CANTERBURY 0: In a one sided match, Samba was the victor. Michael Klein scored three goals in the first half alone to lead the way. Nick Gantsoudes added a pair of goals while Joe Rahtelli and Ronny Basak-Smith scored one apiece. Brian Connor, Jack Quinn, Chris Finstein, and Rahtelli all had assists. Sean Cummins made five saves and earned his third shutout.
SAMBA 5, SOUTHEAST 0: Early in the game, two well struck drives from Brian Conroy put Samba ahead. Moments later, Ronny Basak-Smith chipped one over Southeastâs goalkeeper. Toward the end of the half, on a beautiful serve from Brian Conner, Jack Quinn put a head on it and put Samba up 4-0 at halftime. In the second half, Mark Cinquegrana scored on an assist from Michael Klein. Chris Howley and Chris Collins also had assists in the game. Defensively, Mike Vontobol and Ryan Derrig led the way. Sean Cummins recorded a clean sheet in goal.
