Dear Editor:

I am writing to introduce myself as a candidate for Legislative Council (District 1). My husband, Doug, and I have been residents of Newtown for 25 years and are privileged to have raised our now adult children, Douglas and Morgan, in this beautiful town.

I have been an educator for 30 years and am a founding administrator at Booker T. Washington Academy in New Haven, where I serve as the Chief Academic Officer. I hold certificates as both a school administrator and a superintendent of schools.

I am no stranger to Newtown and am not afraid of hard work. I am looking forward to working hard to serve Newtown on the Legislative Council by working collaboratively to lead us into the future by ensuring that our community is safe, inclusive, and inviting for all residents.

I hope you will support me (if you live in District 1) at the polls and if elected thereafter. There is a lot of work to be done, and it is going to take a concerted effort to move the needle.
