Take A Dog Home From The Pound

The following dogs, Luna and Stella, are among those available for adoption from the Newtown pound, which is located at the end of Ethan Allen Road (behind the transfer station).

Luna and Stella were raised together but may be adopted separately.

LUNA is a female purebred Australian cattle dog. She is mostly black and tan with what is called a blue streaked coat - but actually looks gray streaked. However one describes it, she is an attractive older lady, about 10 years old. She is very well behaved and, when enjoying a walk with you, will not stray off. As a working dog, she likes to be involved in whatever you are doing. Even so, she (like many of us) enjoys a good nap! Luna is around 40 pounds and she evidently has not missed many meals. She  is used to living with other small animals, including cats. She is familiar with an invisible fence. Luna is a pretty special dog who would like nothing more that to spend her senior years by your side as a constant and loyal companion.

STELLA is a female shepherd mix, mostly tan with a lovely white streaked chest. She is 8 years old and slender, weighing it at 40 pounds or so. Although a little shy at first, she will quickly warm up to you and, eventually, you’ll find her snuggling up alongside you. She likes long walks and is even leash trained to accompany you on a bike. Of course she loves to explore in the woods and use her awesome sense of smell to track whatever it is she is interested in. She knows about living within the confines of an invisible fence. Stella is a sweet, gentle lady and would like to share your home with you and any other small animal you may have.
