Bridle Trails Fall Pace Series Information

Sunday, September 18, Middlebury Bridle Land Association Fall Hunter Pace – Larkin’s Farm, South Street, Middlebury. Lunch is included and available for non-riders for $20. Prepayment and preregistration is required. Provide proof of negative Coggins for each horse with the entry. Release form is available at www.middleburybridle.org. Saturday, September 24, Oblong Trails Association Hettinger Challenge Hunter Pace – Old Quaker Hill Road, Pawling, N.Y. Preregistration is advisable with proof of negative Coggins (nonreturnable). Sunday, October 2, Lewisboro Horsemen’s Association’s Fall Country Pace – Ward Pound Ridge Reservation, Cross River, N.Y., from 8 am to noon. Buffet lunch included from 11 am to 2 pm. Sunday, October 9, Greenwich Riding & Trails Association Hunter Pace – Held at June Hill Farm, Greenwich, from 8 am to noon. Senior riders, $80; junior riders, $60; lunch only, $30. Lunch will be served at 12:30 pm and ribbons will be awarded when all riders are in. Entry forms available at www.thegrta.org. Sunday, October 30, Newtown Bridle Lands Association Frost on the Pumpkin Pace – Mt Nebo Road, Newtown, Pace is 8 am-noon, buffet lunch 11 am to 2 pm. Entries close October 28 or when full. Early registration is encouraged. Riders are encouraged to come in costume. Prizes are given for the best costumed team, the oldest horse and rider combination, and the Peanut Award goes to the youngest rider. Cost is $65 for NBLA members and $75 for nonmembers. Junior rider: NBLA member, $40; nonmember, $50. Payment is required in advance of pace day. Payments outstanding on pace day will have a $10 charge added per rider. All paces require approved protective headgear (safety helmets) and suitable riding footwear (boot with heel). There are four divisions: Hunt, Pleasure, Junior, and Western. Western teams must have at least one Western rider. Junior teams must have at least one Junior rider. Events will be held rain or shine, will have go-rounds at all fences and will award ribbons for first through tenth place in each di-vision. Riders accumulate points toward series awards.
