A Sad Day For The Children Of Newtown
A Sad Day For The Children
Of Newtown
To the Editor:
This is a truly sad day for the children of Newtown. One of the very special benefits of living in Newtown was having the piece of mind that our neighbors were responsible for transporting our kids to and from school. Now we have to worry about a stranger-operator bus system and whether or not competent people are actually comfortable driving Newtownâs hilly, winding, narrow, remote roads and then crisscrossing Route 25 and navigating 34, especially in bad weather.
It will be hard to dispel the uneasy feeling that the bidding process was slanted against the Newtownâs owner-operators from start to finish. The Board of Education should not be proud of this debacle. Just the opposite.
