Women’s Fellowship Plans Activities

The Women’s Fellowship Board of the Newtown Congregational Church began its program year by planning for three events and hearing updates from all the circles.

The Women’s Fellowship Breakfast is planned for October 22 and will host a meeting of the Southwest/Litchfield district of the United Church of Christ Women’s Fellowship Board on September 29 and a program event of the Southwest/Litchfield Women’s Fellowship of the UCC in November.

Plans for the new Kitchen Committee were outlined and financial reports of the bake sale held during the flea market were announced as well as other circle activities.

Circles and meeting times are Circle of Faith (second Thursday at 10:30 am), Circle of Hope (second Tuesday at 9:30 am), Circle of Grace (third Thursday at 7:30 pm), and Circle of Love (fourth Wednesday at 7:30 pm).

Circles make school and health kits, collect Campbell labels that are forwarded to a school that cashes them in for supplies, measures yardage for the Cornerstone Thrift Shop, sends cards to members who are ill or celebrating special dates, prepares Thanksgiving and Christmas baskets, and hold various fundraisers to supply the new kitchen or other needs of the church. The circles also offer fellowship to the women of the church in small and intimate groups.
