Wine Tasting & Gourmet Dinner

RIDGEFIELD — The Danbury Hospital Development Fund, Inc is hosting a “Vintage Affair” wine tasting and gourmet dinner on Thursday, September 29, at Bernard’s Inn. Wine tasting will be held from 5:30 to 7 pm.

 The tasting will feature a selection of hors d’oeuvres and more than 35 wines such as Ornellaia Le Volte, Lucente and Marchese De’ Frescobaldi Pomino Rosso. The gourmet wine dinner will follow from 7:30 to 9:30. Seating at the dinner is limited and a prompt reply is encouraged. A limited live auction of exceptional wines, wine accoutrements. and experience packages will take place during dinner.

Featured speaker for the evening will be Richard Choate of Folio Wines. Born and raised in the Boston area, Mr Choate is a graduate of Bentley College and a veteran of the US Navy. He has held positions with various wine companies including Heublein, Brown-Foreman, Sutter Home, and Pastene Wines. For more than 11 years, Mr Choate served as Northeast sales manager for Robert Mondavi Winery in Napa Valley, Calif. As Michael Mondavi’s business partner and northeast sales manager for their new luxury wine company, Folio Wines, Mr Choate offers a unique perspective on the wine industry and the exciting future of Folio wines, both nationally and internationally.
