There were two errors in a recent feature about the Tercentennial portrait collection on view at C.H. Booth Library, both regarding former First Selectman Timothy Treadwell. A quote that was posted on the website for Connecticut Society of Portrait Artists incorrectly mentions a note from âMr Tâs daughter.â Timothy and Anne Treadwell had three sons (Mead, Albert and Frank) and it was the eldest son who sent a note to CSOPA.
Also, Mr Treadwell was in office for four years before his death, having won three elections (including the special election that put him into the First Selectmanâs office). He served eight months into his third term before his death in February 1972.
In the September 2 story about the new Medicare Prescription Drug Plan Part D, the open enrollment for six weeks in November and December each year applies only to those who are already enrolled in Medicare Prescription Drug Plan Part D and want to switch to a different plan. There is still a penalty to join if you were previously eligible and did not enroll. Also, for those who must take a drug not listed by any of the participating plans, an expedited appeal can be filed after joining any plan. If the appeal is won, the plan must carry that drug.
The photos published last week of the Labor Day Parade did not credit the photographers. The photos were taken by Andrew Gorosko, John Voket, Kaaren Valenta, and Nancy Crevier. One photo, of the St Rose parade marchers, was taken by Laura Terry.
