Another Popular Coffee Stop
Another Popular Coffee Stop
To the Editor:
Newtown Girl Scouts greeted many weary travelers from as far away as Hawaii, New Mexico, Ohio, England, and the Czech Republic with coffee, tea, water, donuts, and bagels this past Labor Day weekend. The annual Coffee Stop, located on Church Hill Road, is a community service project that supports the public by being open 24 hours a day from Friday afternoon through Monday afternoon for the Labor Day weekend.
Thank you to property owners Louie Richards and Jim Edwards who allow us the use of their property so that we may provide this service to the community. A huge thank you to our Scouts, their leaders and parents, and the following individuals without whom we could not have had a successful weekend: Sarah Burns, Lisa Chaloux, Karen Colavito, Marc DâAvola, Audrey DeBlasio, Tammy DeMarche, Anne Dieckeman, Newtown Girl Scout Troop #433, Suzanne Lang, Mandy and Bill Monaco, Renee Olson and Family, Sandy Petersen, and Boy Scout Troop #70.
On behalf of Newtown Girl Scouts, we give special thanks to the following local businesses for their donations that made our annual Coffee Stop successful: Andreaâs Bakeshop, Bagel Delight Deli, Big Y of Newtown, Blue Colony Diner, Donut Inn of Monroe, Dunkinâ Donuts of Newtown, Newtown Shell Service Station, Pembroke Pumping Service of Danbury, Pendergast Garbage Removal, and Stop & Shop of Newtown. Special thanks also to Newtown Parks & Rec, Newtown Highway Department, and Newtown Police Department.
Sincerely,
Karen Kaechele
