To the Editor:

It was a wonderful Labor Day in Newtown, with a festive parade that honored Monsignor Robert Weiss and the many “deeply rooted” organizations serving Newtown.

Kudos to the parade committee for their amazing work and for bringing us sunshine and smiles. And many thanks to everyone who joined us at the Newtown Congregational Church (UCC) for our annual Pancakes and Parking event. We had a blast serving you delicious pancakes and seeing your friendly faces.

We hope to see you again next year, and at our other community events like the Mississippi BBQ and Shrimp Boil on October 21, holiday concerts, and of course, Sunday morning worship. We are a welcoming and affirming people of faith.
