To the Editor:

I recently saw a letter in the letter hive [“Choo, Choo!” September 4, 2020] about how trains are overrated, and I would just like to say that while the aesthetics of trains are idealized and somewhat shoved down our throats as children, trains, and indeed most public transit, are the key to creating a greener, happier world. Dismissing trains because they aren’t as cool or pretty as they were when we were children doesn’t really make sense, and I just wanted to refute that point because it stood uncontested so far in The Bee.
