To the Editor:

It is common knowledge, and been proven, the only way we can control the [corona]virus now is by all nations mandating all of its citizens wear masks when in public.

Not only has [President Donald Trump] not mandated or requested we do — but he has encouraged and persuaded Americans not to wear masks when in public.

All Republicans and especially the Republicans in Washington know this — and we now they know he “down played” (in his words) the seriousness of COVID-19. They now have a greater responsibility to remove him from office.

Unfortunately they can’t simply remove him from office and give him a pardon the way they did with Nixon — he and his family are still facing criminal charges from states that can’t be pardoned by a President.

However, if the Republicans and Democrats could work together to have the states give him and his family pardons now would be a better alternative than waiting until next year when millions more Americans will get COVID-19 and die.

Their punishment will be living in shame for the rest of their lives.

We will eventually get control of the virus in the future.

But there is still a greater plague facing our nation and the world, and the future of our children — global warming!

Thanks to our president and the Republican Party which is controlled by some one-percenters, we withdrew from the Paris Climate Accord, and wasted three years in fighting it!

Global warming is a world problem and we can not control it by ourselves. All the countries of the world must fight it and we should be one of its leaders — including all the one percenters in the world — we and they would not want to live in that kind of world!
