Donna Lee Brogan
Donna Lee Brogan, 67, died suddenly September 9, in her Newtown home. She was born in Milford, and was the daughter of the late Edith (Ceccarelli) Tickey and Lawrence Surenko.
Ms Brogan graduated from Notre Dame High School and Champlain College. She worked as legal secretary for Harvey Hubbell Corporation and later as a sales agent for Caselli Real Estate in Stratford before her retirement.
She loved watching all sports and had not missed a New York Giants game in more than 50 years. She traveled extensively and was known as a fabulous cook, hostess, and gardener among all her friends at Rowledge Pond. Her sudden loss stunned everyone, but all who knew her agree that her memory will last forever. Although she had no children of her own, she was known as a second mother to all her “kids”— related or not.
Her husband of 46 years, Daniel T. Brogan; a brother, Robert Tickey, Jr; and a sister, Judith Caselli; as well as several nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles survive Ms Brogan. Her stepfather, Robert Tickey, Sr; and a niece predeceased Ms Brogan.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass, to be celebrated in Holy Name of Jesus Church, 1950 Barnum Avenue, Stratford, Friday September 18, at 10 am. There are no calling hours.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis TN 38105 or www.stjude.org.
