Henry L.        Giannini

Henry L. Giannini, 93, of Bridgeport, beloved husband of Lucille DeCesare Giannini, died September 7, at Masonicare of Newtown. Born in Bridgeport, February 15, 1919, he was a son of Frank and Josephine Marconi Giannini.

In addition to his wife of 65 years, survivors include a son, Duane Giannini, and his wife Deborah, of Newtown; five grandchildren; eight beloved great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, Jeffrey; a daughter-in-law, Diana; three brothers, Daniel, Guido, and Frank and three sisters, Grace Sodoski, Mildred Dobelstein, and Edith Giannini.

Mr Giannini was a US Army Veteran of World War II, serving in New Guinea, Guadalcanal, Luzon, and the North Solomon Islands. Before his retirement, he was a police officer with the city of Bridgeport for more than 30 years.

He enjoyed watching thoroughbred horseracing, but was never happier than when he was spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Funeral services took place September 11. Interment will be private.
