Programs
*Lay the foundation for yoga with creative yoga poses, songs and stories with instructor, Heather Morgado on Thursdays, September 20 and 27 and October 4, 11 to 11:30 am. For children ages 3â6 along with a caregiver. Include both your name and the childâs name when you register online. Bring a yoga mat or towel to class. A $5 fee per pair is due on the day of the program.
*âCreative Connections: The Art of Wet Feltingâ is an enrichment program geared for children with sensory processing differences, but open to neurotypical children on Saturday, September 29, at 2 pm. Artist Carol Collins will introduce the technique of wet wool felting to create your own design. Open to Newtown residents ages 6â9 along with an adult partner. Registration forms are available at the childrenâs circulation desk. This free program is funded by a grant from GE Capital.

Programs
*Calling Young Writers of Newtown in grades 6â12. Be part of the first Newtown Arts Festival and read your poetry or selected prose to an appreciative audience on Sunday afternoon, September 16. Sign up online or call Margaret Brown, YA librarian, 203-426-4533.
*Calling Young Poets! The Booth Library Creative Writing Group for Young Adults will offer âWriting Poetryâ from 6 to 8 pm on Thursday, October 4, 11, 18, 25, and November 1. There is a limit of ten students in grades 6â8 and are expected to attend all five sessions. There is no fee.
 The group will be led by Liz Arneth, retired English teacher and Newtown resident, assisted by Janice Bernard. All sessions will allow time for writing and sharing stories in progress, as well as one-on-one communication between adults and young people. Sign up online or call 203-426-4533.

*Meet the Author: Marni Graff will be visiting the library on Monday, September 17, at noon to discuss her new mystery, The Blue Virgin. Join us for an enjoyable afternoon. Refreshments will be served.
*A Workshop to Boost Your Job Search: âGetting the Most Out of LinkedIn,â on Tuesday, September 18, at 7 pm, is free and will be taught by Bill Florin, a certified professional resume writer. Call the library to register.
*Julie Stern, retired teacher at WCSU, will be leading a five-part book discussion on the reality, the impact, and the long-range consequences of the âGreat War.â Multiple copies of the books to be discussed are available at the second-floor circulation desk. The schedule for the series is: September 19, One of Ours by Willa Cather; October 10, Birdsong by Sebastian Faulks; October 24, A Very Long Engagement by Sebastian Japrisot; November 7, All Quiet on the Western Front by Erich Maria Remarque; and November 21, River of Darkness by Rennie Airth. All discussions will begin at 7:30 pm in the meeting room.
*Evening Book Group: Fall of Giants by Ken Follett on Thursday, September 20, at 7:30 pm.
*An M&M Production of Nora and Delia Ephronâs adaptation of Love, Loss, and What I Wore on Sunday, will be on September 23, at 2 pm. The program is free but space is limited; register online.
*A Hidden Gem at the Library: Did you know that the library has DVD copies of the local cable medical show, Dr V On Call? The show covers the full range of health and medical topics with local physicians. Available on the main floor.
