Area Horse Contracts Virus

HARTFORD – The Connecticut Department of Agriculture announced this week the first domestic animal cases of West Nile Virus (WNV) infection for 2012.

A four-year-old horse from Southbury is one of two horses in the state that have contracted the virus. The horse was treated and is recovering.
