Waldorf To Celebrate Opening

The Housatonic Valley Waldorf school will be hosting a grand opening of its new middle school facility on Saturday, September 15. The school faculty would like to extend an open invitation to all Newtown residents, children, families, and friends to join them for the celebration. There will be a dedication ceremony at 3 pm followed by a ribbon cutting, refreshments, tours, live music and dancing.

The Housatonic Valley Waldorf Middle School is at 40 Dodgingtown Road and has been under development for three years. Through the generosity, hard work and dedication of the local community, families and friends of the school, Waldorf officials note, “the dream for a new middle school building has become a reality.”

The new school facility will serve children in fifth through eighth grades and provides an additional 80,000 square feet of space. Four new classrooms as well as an atrium meeting space, art and clay modeling studios have been added.
