NHS Marching Band Guard Off To A Great Start
The Newtown High School Marching Band and Color Guard kicked off the 2007-08 competition season at Danbury High School on September 8. While the Danbury show was an evaluation show only, scores were given that will not be used officially, but give the bands and guards an idea of how they performed for the first show of the season.
Bands had the choice of actual competition or performance only. The intent of this show was to have a good time and get the show on the field for the first time with as little pressure as possible. Units were encouraged to attend even if shows were not completed. Danbury High School did not receive a score as it was the host school.
The Bethel High School Marching Wildcats, a Class III band, received a score of 47.95. In Class IV (which Danbury regularly competes in), NHS earned 63.45.
Class V bands Trumbull High received 67.70 and New Milford High earned 61.95.
The NHS Band and Color Guard will be performing at New Milford High School on Saturday, September 15. The show begins at 7 pm.
