Lawn Festival, September 15
Lawn Festival, September 15
MONROE â The 28th Annual Lawn Festival of the Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth will be held Saturday, September 15, from 10 am to 5 pm, at Marian Heights, on Route 111. Admission and parking are free.
In keeping with this yearâs theme, âFamily Fun All Day Long,â a warm invitation is extended to all alumni who attended schools staffed by the Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth. Special childrenâs features will include crawling, bouncing, and climbing rides, face painting, sand art, and fun-filled games. Parents are likewise invited to join their youngsters on an old-fashioned hay ride around the spacious green fields of these beautiful hills.
Old-time favorites will feature homemade breads and Polish babki from the kitchen of Sister M. Rose McCormack, Polish and American food, and beautiful craft items made by the Sisters themselves.
A giant tag sale will accompany the festival.
At 4 pm, the day will conclude in the Sistersâ convent chapel with Mass of Thanksgiving (which will satisfy the Sunday obligation for Roman Catholics). The Mass will be celebrated by their chaplain, Rev James Cole. All festival raffle drawings will take place at 5 pm.
All proceeds are for the benefit of the aged and infirm members of the Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth. For directions or further information, call the development office at 459-8286.
