In Praise Of A Local Businessman
In Praise Of A Local Businessman
To the Editor:
I want to tell others what a decent man the owner of Berkshire Motors is. In April after recovering from a physical injury, I knew I had to replace my passenger car. After a week of searching for a car I could sit comfortably in and could afford, a close neighbor suggested I go to the car business across from Newtown High School. My neighbor said, âJim the owner is a decent man.â I found that to be true.
I bought a car from Jim Marcucilli the first week in April. He told my youngest daughter Amy Supak who came from Illinois to help me that âIâll help your mom.â I didnât expect the experience to be so good. When I had a simple door latch replaced, the arrangement was made to pick up my new-used car. The work was done and the car brought back to me. Because of my disability, this was a generous help.
Then, after five months of ownership ⦠and of course, long after the legal 60 days warranty, an expensive part failed. There was no legal obligation for Jim to cover parts and labor but he did. To say I am grateful is not enough, I want others to know that Berkshire Motors is a place where a customer like me is more than fairly treated. I do think Jim Marcucilli is a very honorable and decent man. I canât say enough on his behalf.
