Anne Frances Barrett of Heritage Village, Southbury, died on September 10 after a brief illness. She was the widow of Harold N. Barrett, who died in December 1987. Mrs Barrett was born January 9, 1918, in Woonsocket, R.I., the youngest child of Peter C. and Cora E. (McLaughlin) Carroll.
Before moving to Southbury in 1993, Mrs Barrett had lived with her husband in Newtown and earlier in New York City. She was a member of the Garden Club of Newtown and the League of Women Voters. A graduate of Katherine Gibbs, she was an administrative assistant for Uniroyal in New York. She was devoted to her family, liked dogs, music, and art and enjoyed reading, golf, and cards.
Survivors are six nephews, Paul T. Carroll, Jr, Robert C. Carroll, David W. Carroll, Peter T. Geddes, John M. Geddes, and Richard W. Carroll; three nieces, Elizabeth C. Mantoni, Margaret A. Geddes, and Mary C. Geddes; and her stepchildren, Judith B. Theroux and Harold C. Barrett. Also surviving are her sister-in-law, Anna Frost Carroll; and her brother-in-law, Eugene E. Gramolini; and several grandnieces, grandnephews, and stepgrandchildren.
Mrs Barrett was predeceased by two brothers and three sisters, Charles P. Carroll, Brigadier General Paul T. Carroll, Cora May Carroll, Eleanor C. Gramolini, and Gertrude C. Geddes.
A funeral Mass will be held Friday, September 14, at 10 am, at Sacred Heart Church, Main Street South, Southbury. Calling hours were scheduled from 2 to 6 pm, Thursday, September 13, in the daily chapel of the church. Arrangements were by Carpino Funeral Home, 750 Main Street South, Southbury.
