Girl Scouting Today Sessions

The Girl Scout Council of Southwestern Connecticut (GSCSWCT), which includes 15 towns and cities in Fairfield County, is hosting a series of public “Girl Scouting Today” sessions as a way to inform the community about Girl Scouting.

“The one-hour ‘Girl Scouting Today’ sessions are fast paced and extremely informative,” said Cathy Ko, council board of directors first vice president and speaker at many of the sessions. “Most people think of Girl Scouts as girls in green who sell cookies. We want to communicate that Girl Scouts is so much more.

“We want to tell people of the occasions when a girl felt successful for the first time in her life, when she learned a new skill, or had her first leadership experience,” Ms Ko continued. “We want to communicate that Girl Scouts is a value-based organization focused on providing opportunities for girls to develop to their full potential.”
