Biagio âBillyâ DiMartino
Biagio âBillyâ DiMartino, 53, beloved husband of Josephine C. (Greski) DiMartino, of 105 Benz Street, Ansonia, died September 13 at his summer residence in Milford after a brief illness, with his loving family by his side.
He was the brother of Sal (Sam) DiMartino of Newtown.
Mr DiMartino was born on May 20, 1947, in Isnello, Sicily, Italy, son of Pietro DiMartino of Ansonia and the late Salvatrice DiMartino. A resident of Ansonia for most of his life, he had been a sales representative of Bankers Life and Casualty for more than 28 years. He was also a communicant of the Holy Rosary Church, Ansonia, a past president of the Seymour Lionâs Club, past treasurer of St Josephâs High School Touchdown Club, a member of UNICO, and past president and trustee of the Sons of Italy, Valley Lodge, Derby. He was also a member of the greater Bridgeport Life Insurance Underwriters.
His survivors, besides his wife, father, and brother, include two sons, Peter Joseph DiMartino and Joseph Biagio DiMartino of Ansonia; a daughter, Nicole Mary DiMartino of Ansonia; another brother, Carmelo DiMartino of Tampa, Fla.; two sisters, Antoinette (DiMartino) Butler of Woodbury, and Maria Rosa DiMartino of Ansonia; also many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and special friends. He was predeceased by his stepmother, Nicolina DiMartino, and his daughter, Lisa Marie DiMartino.
Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, September 16, at 9 am at Holy Rosary Church, Ansonia. Burial will be in Mount St Peter Cemetery, Derby.
Calling hours will be on Friday, September 15, from 4 to 8 pm.
Contributions in his memory can be made to the Make A Wish Foundation through the Spinelli-Malerba Funeral Home, 62 Beaver Street, Ansonia, which is entrusted with the funeral arrangements.
