Join Newtown authors Andrea Zimmermann, Sydney Eddison, and Nancy Crevier for an evening of discussion and readings of their recent works, Thursday, September 15, from 6 to 8 pm in the Meeting Room of the C.H. Booth Library, 25 Main Street.

A brief Q&A will follow.

Zimmermann is a writer, artist, and librarian. Her latest work is an amateur-sleuth mystery, A Legacy of Lies: A Rock Ridge Mystery, set in a small fictional Connecticut town.

She is also the author of three local history books. Her next mystery, Horse Latitudes, will be out the fall of 2022.

Prior to writing books, Zimmermann was a features writer for The Newtown Bee, then a freelance journalist for the New York Times “Connecticut Weekly” section, and regional magazines. Her experiences working and living in New England informs all of her fiction.

Crevier’s book of poetry, The Peach Quartet and Other Poems, was published in the spring of 2022. Love, loss, and life are the themes that prevail in this collection of relatable works.

From her childhood in northern Minnesota to her adult life transplanted to the East Coast, her poetry has been inspired by people, places, memories, and moments revealed in nature and human interactions.

Crevier joined the staff of The Newtown Bee as reporter in 2005, and went on to become the editor of the newspaper. She retired in 2021, and continues to live and write in Newtown.

Also published in spring 2022, Eddison’s fifth book of poetry, The Sacred Ground of Home, poems from a country life, joins her numerous books on gardening. These include A Patchwork Garden; A Passion for Daylilies, the Flowers and the People; Gardens to Go: Creating and Designing a Container Garden with photography by Steve Silk; The Gardener’s Palette, Creating Color in the Garden, also with photography by Steve Silk; and Gardening for a Lifetime, a winner of the National Garden Club’s Award of Excellence.

A native of Woodbury, Eddison has spent the better part of a long life out-of-doors and in the company of dogs.

Register for this event at C.H. Booth Library by calling 203-426-4533 or go to chboothlibrary.org. Registration is recommended as space is limited for this in-person event.
