Ku Is Ready To Do Even More For Newtown
To the Editor,
I met Michelle Embree Ku years ago when I was working at C.H. Booth Library. She and her family were interested in moving to Newtown and she visited the library to ask questions about our town. She wanted to learn about the schools and the parks, the youth programs and the volunteer opportunities. Was Newtown a good fit for her, her husband and their three sons? Lucky for us, it was!
Michelle quickly became an active Newtowner, volunteering in the schools and on other community-enriching projects. Wanting to give back even more to her hometown she was elected to the Board of Education and served for eight years (four as the chair). She subsequently served on the Legislative Council and most recently was elected to the Board of Selectmen.
Now Michelle is ready to do even more for Newtown, expanding her scope of involvement to the state level. She is running for Newtown’s 106th District — House of Representatives. What a wonderful opportunity we have to elect this energetic and positive voice.
I remember Michelle, the young mom asking if Newtown was the right place to raise her family. Time has passed and now she’s ready to do the work needed to ensure that Newtown is the best place for all of us to raise our families, to work, to run businesses and to retire.
She will work to make Newtown a safe and affordable town for all residents with accessibility to quality education, smart development and public health policy that protects us from gun violence. Please visit michelleku4newtown.net for more policy information.
We are so fortunate to have such a thoughtful and hardworking individual willing to be an advocate for Newtown in Hartford. Voting for Michelle is a vote for Newtown’s future.
Sincerely,
Kim Weber
