Ellis Paul To Headline Late September Flagpole Radio Café

Acclaimed singer-songwriter Ellis Paul is set to grace the stage of Edmond Town Hall Theatre when Flagpole Radio Café returns on Saturday, September 28, for an intimate and unforgettable evening of music.

Known for his soulful lyrics and captivating melodies, Paul promises to deliver a performance that will resonate with audiences of all ages.

Born and raised in Maine, Paul has built a reputation as one of the leading voices in American contemporary folk music. With over twenty albums to his name and numerous awards, including an induction into Maine Music Hall of Fame, Paul continues to inspire listeners worldwide with his poignant storytelling and heartfelt songs.

His songs have appeared in several blockbuster films (Me, Myself, and Irene; Shallow Hal, Hall Pass) and have been covered by award winning country artists including Sugarland, Kristian Bush, and Jack Ingram. Through a steady succession of albums of his own — a remarkable 23 releases so far — and a constant touring presence around the world, Paul’s audience has grown into a loyal legion of fans.

Along the way, he has picked up an impressive number of awards including the prestigious Kerrville New Folk Award, 15 Boston Music Awards, an Honorary Doctorate from the University of Maine, the 2019 International Acoustic Music Awards Artist of the Year and most recently his album, The Storyteller’s Suitcase, was named the 2019 NERFA Album of the Year.

The Flagpole Radio Café features a special guest artist as well as an engaging mix of music by The Flagpole Radio Café Orchestra and radio style comedy sketches by The Flagpole Shakespeare Repertory Theatre.

Flagpole Radio Café Producer Barbara Gaines says she and the performers of the entertainment series are “delighted to welcome Ellis Paul to The Flagpole Radio Café.

His music resonates deeply with our audience, and we are excited to provide a platform for such a renowned artist,” Gaines added.

Showtime is 7 pm on the historic stage at 45 Main Street.

Tickets are $45 and available online through FlagpoleProductions.org and EdmondTownHall.org. They will also be available at the door the day of the event.
