WATERBURY – The Teikyo Post University Equine Resources Committee will kick off the school year with a Lecture/Video presentation on Friday, October 3, featuring certified John Lyons trainer Lynn Corrigan.

Ms Corrigan will show videos of her work in horse training situations with clarification and discussion of the horses involved and will show how the John Lyons training method can be used to correct many problems.

When she graduated in 1998 from the John Lyons Trainer Certification Program in Parachute, Colorado, Ms Corrigan was the youngest person yet accepted in the program. In the ensuing years she has worked with numerous horses and owners, including being the Training Consultant to the Worcester, Massachusetts County Sheriff’s Department Mounted Unit, working with many Mounted Police Units through out New England, and being a Guest Speaker and Demonstrator at Rochester Equine Clinic in Rochester, New Hampshire plus a Presenter at Equine Affaire in Springfield, Massachusetts.

All of Ms Corrigan’s training emphasizes working with not just the horse, but also the owner. There are no secrets – clients participating in the clinic will learn how their horse is trained and how to continue using this method in their future training.

The Friday evening lecture will be held in TPU’s Drubner Center, Room #201 at 7:15 pm. Tickets are available for $6 in advance or $10 at the door. Proceeds benefit equine scholarships at Teikyo Post. For further information, call 203-596-4631 or email CBaker@teikyopost.edu.

Ms Corrigan is also conducting a Problem-Solving clinic at Sugar Mountain Farm, LLC, 2579 Litchfield Road in Watertown October 4 and 5 from 10 am until 6 pm. The cost to bring a horse is $175 and this includes observations for both weekend days. Reservations are required. Auditors are welcomed – $25 per day or $40 for both days.

Anyone interested in bringing a horse for this clinic should contact Ms Corrigan at lynn@lynncorrigan.com.
