Salvation Army Seeks Volunteers

HARTFORD — The Salvation Army is looking for volunteers for its upcoming holiday programs.

The 138-year-old social services organization has long known the value of volunteers. Volunteers serve on advisory boards, service units, holiday teams, disaster service teams, and help in a variety of programs at many locations throughout the state of Connecticut.

“Our need for full- and part-time volunteers never ends,” said Major Donald Hostetler, divisional commander, “as contributions decrease, we, like many other employers. have to reduce our staff and our expenses. Volunteers help fill the void in many aspects as well as help us in our fundraising and program services.”

Interested persons should call 860-543-8406, ext 141, or visit The Salvation Army’s website at www.salvationarmy-ct-ri.org to receive a volunteer application.

Volunteer coordinator Joyce Kristof can be reached at 860-543-8406, ext 142, for more information.
